To Senator Portman (R-Oh)
Please explain why you seemingly are supporting:
1. REPEAL Alternate Minimum Tax (AMT) - Why are you not just fixing this? The lack of something like the AMT will just give multimillionaires many loopholes to exploit, since you are not really fixing the underlying tax code. The claimed "make simpler" does not work, since practically all multimillionaires have a CPA do their taxes.
2. REPEAL Estate Tax- Explain why you are not concerned about the repeal increasing the disparity of the 1% vs everyone else? Why do you feel it is important to allow dynastic wealth?
I have not heard you explain either, while you seemingly are going to vote to repeal both. Why?
